Collection SummaryThis Montana Shakespeare in the Park’s (MSIP) collection of posters contains the works and productions over the course of the last 50 years. Through this collection, we can travel back in time to witness the arts and memories of MSIP.
These memories of MSIP prompt the idea that the dedication to preserving the cultural traditions of theatre and literature remains the same and is as strong as it was when MSIP was founded.
When MSIP first began in 1973, the tour consisted of just 7 Montana cities and 13 performances. Today, MSIP not only introduces Shakespearean theatre to many rural underserved communities in Montana but also in 4 additional surrounding states in just under 13 weeks (about 3 months) from June- September totaling 63 communities.
